just caught Evan Almighty with phillip. Morgan Freeman's character aka God was questioned by the lead character Evan Baxter why was he chosen to build the ARK, God said this at the last parts of the show. "Do you think when you pray for patience, God will give u patience or will He give you opportunities to excercise that? or when u pray for better family relations u'll be surrounded by this warm fuzzy family feeling rather then given opportunities to improve on it?" and so Evan Baxter had promised to change the world when he was elected congressman after a successful campaign. and he prayed that God will help him change the world. building of the Ark was exactly the opportunity God gave Evan to do so. (details of the show pls read the sypnosis)

well my point being after hearing that statement made by Morgan Freeman it changed my perspective. and thinking back its rather true when i prayed for more patience at home. at times it seems that more arguements arised rather than peace. so now i see it as opportunities to excercise my faith and be patient whenever it comes to the brink of arguement with anyone in the family and not to start rattling off like fish mongers. for all these will come to past. yes you've have a point to make. but it isnt wat you want to say but how u say it that matters.

God's ways do not change

an extract from Knowing God by J.I.Packer

He continues to act towardss sinful men and women in the way that he does in the Bible story. Still he shows his freedom and lordshipby discriminating between sinners, causing some to hear the gospel while others do not hear it, and moving some of those who hear it to repentance while leaving others in their unbelief; thus teaching his saints that he owes mercy to none, and it is entirely of his grace, not at all through their own effort, that they themselves have found life.

Still he blesses those on whom he sets his love in a way that humbles them, so that all the glory may be his alone. Still he hates the sin of his people, and uses all kinds of inward and outward pain to wean their hearts from compromise and disobedience. Still he seeks the fellowship of his people, and sends them both sorrows and joys in order to detach their love from other things and attach it to himself. Still he teaches believers to value his promised gifts by making them wait for those before he bestows them. So we read of God dealing with his people in the Scripture record, and so he deals with them still. His aims and principles of action remain consistent; he does not at any time act out of character. Our ways, we know, are pathetically inconstant - but not God's.

you know how God speaks to you not just through the Word or that nudge you feel inside? his creation's so vast and God's a creative God. He can use anything to tell us something. we just have to be alert.

have you eaten your daily bread?

Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11

i read that it helps if you made God's promises personal and claim it. so i prayed "God give me this day my daily bread" it may sound selfish alittle but it very much makes things personal.

my stomache did me in this morning so i took on the later bus ride. the traffic beyond toh tuck drive made it worse. traffic jammed and i was late for my major paper by 9 min. thankfully the first 10 min was for reading through the paper. so the moment i sat my bud down paper commenced. head pounding heart throbbing. thats why your pri teacher had always advocate coming to school at least half an hour earlier for exams. so that u can do your morning dump if it comes. i always had a prob with memorising theory or facts(C6 for O lvl history man)people normally have 10% of their brain power. i probably have 5. or less. but God was gracious. i managed to remember exactly what was needed. after Section A and B, Section C was pure calculation. phew. well thats my bread for the morning. For "He knows the problems we will face, and He has already made provision for us to overcome them". Amen.

ONE MORE PAPER TO GO. and its all theory :(

yet another makan session. senior youth bbq @ Amos'. loads of chicken, beef, burnt marsh mallows and bacon wrapped asparagus etc. played Ugly, taboo and the silent game. in Ugly you literally see the ugly side of pple fighting for that one card. maybe thats why its named ugly. hmmm. bx and i had loads of fun with the van, exploring the true vibes of being a delivery man. spotted Arnette when we stopped at the pedestrian crossing and shouted out our lungs like little kids for her. in the middle of the road and everyone else stared at us. and we pressed the door bell and shouted for Fiona..... at the wrong house. thankfully the owner not home. im hungry.

when you are aged 57 going on to 60 and thinking that you've got a decade or more to go, you'll start wanting to live life more. thats Dad. now relieving days of the old where he belonged to a band. just bought a second hand US made Krager electric guitar with nice coat of blueish green. mom's perplexed why he has to get a extra large speakers that can be a centre piece in the antique museum. keep persuading him to get rid of it in a nice way. its heart wrenching to see things from his perspective, what years his got to live, but at the same moment, time to rock the neighborhood arh!!!

first run of the week (perhaps year)

distance: roughly 2.0km
Time: 13:18
injuries: back ache

army singlet's getting tighter. either it shrunk or i got fatter. 'less u count chasing after the bus to sch, i guess today's run is good. nite running is all that is to it; the road lamps luminating your path, your mp3 player, your inner self edging you on despite the back ache. deep, long drawn breathes. theres a short cut u can take to end it faster. and go home faster. you give it a pass. your mind's focus on just one thing. finish the run. not to regret not finishing. theres something about running i cant get rid of. maybe its the sweat.
first combined CF meeting that im attending later @ NP. and the guys in charge actually think im dao, just becos i never reply their sms that seems more like a notice rather than a question. haha.
