retreat

All men die; few man really lived.

back from student leaders' retreat. with carbon stained fingers. awesome time just listening to conversations, having bbq and testimony/struggle sharing. great group dynamics. its a small core team but God can work wonders thru it. only if we are willing.

funniest of things happens with pple that i travel with. BX and i planned to cycle to seng shiong to join the rest of the pple going by bus. we switched bikes and road along. i guess i was too gang ho thinking the mountain bike can take bums and humps; so i confidently ride over sharp corners. but i forgot the bike's a hybrid with slim road tires. i slided off the concrete path onto the grass and back on. the 80kg impact from me caused both tires to be punctured. amazing.

then BX came up with a brilliant idea. why dun we take bikes onto a bus and to the nearest bike shop? thankfully the 176 bus captain was cool with it and our bikes obstructed the mid way path of the bendy bus with pple staring eyes wide at us. BX even overheard someone's phone conversation with the person saying "eh got pple bring bike up the bus" or something like tat. i brought him to my bike shop. nice malay uncle who cracked jokes with us.

theres something about man and their machine and seeking perfection. or near it. we spent the whole nite after 4 rounds of Commandos, tired but focused on getting our bikes cleaned up. BX started and couldnt stop minimalising his Diamondback. lol...he felt that the brakes were in the way too.. BRAKES?!?! simple stuff but we enjoyed spending time just cleaning up each other's bike.

now's onward to cycling to sch~
